Tips for Procedure Longevity
Keeping your teeth white and healthy doesn’t end when we finish our treatment! There’s so much you can do to preserve the improved whiteness of your teeth and avoid future staining. By following our recommendations and staying disciplined you’ll enjoy the benefits of a healthy white smile for months or even years after treatment. We have advice for how to treat your teeth immediately after whitening, in the longer term, and general tips for keeping away the yellowing factors. Of course, Mobile Teeth Whitening Hamilton is always available to support you after your treatment, helping with any concerns or difficulties you might have.
Immediate After Care
Immediately after we finish the whitening procedure is when your teeth will be the most sensitive and vulnerable to staining agents. We strongly recommend against ingesting any of the usual suspects for yellowing in the days immediately after treatment: cigarettes, coffee, chocolates, dark sauces and meats should be avoided. Foods and drinks that lack staining materials are okay – go for white or clear items like water, white meat or carbs. If you’re not careful, you could end up staining your teeth again right when they’re recovering, and believe us that’s the last thing you want!
Long-Term After Care
A few days after you’re done, your teeth will no longer need to be treated so gingerly. It’s important to remember, though, that despite your teeth being whiter, they will still stain at the same rate they did before. To maximize the longevity of the procedure, be very careful about what kind of staining factors you have in your life. Smoking is one of the worst, and we’re happy to direct you towards resources to give up cigarettes or cigars. Also, excessive coffee drinking has a dramatic yellowing effect, so drink in moderation if you must keep your caffeine habit. A tip is to brush your teeth AFTER drinking coffee, and not before. This will reduce the yellowing effect.
